Researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital are looking for adults and children to participate in three studies that will help them better understand how the flu vaccine works in people of different ages.
CVS/pharmacy, the nation's leading retail pharmacy and MinuteClinic, the largest retail health care provider in the U.S., is urging more Americans to protect themselves and their families with an H1N1 vaccine during National Influenza Vaccination Week (January 10-16) as designated by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Convergence Pharmaceuticals Limited, the new company focused on the development of novel and high value analgesic medicines, and Selcia Limited, a contract research organisation, today are pleased to announce that they have entered into a drug discovery collaboration to identify and develop high quality candidate molecules for the treatment of chronic pain.
The largest study of its type has found that neither vitamin E, which is an antioxidant, nor the diabetes drug metformin, successfully reduced liver enzymes in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in children or teens, according to a paper published in the April 27, 2011 issue of Journal of the American Medical Association.
Researchers at RMIT University's Department of Food Science are recruiting healthy, postmenopausal women to volunteer for a study to see if diet and lifestyle can improve the treatment of breast cancer.
