The Associated Press reports that, because many steps remain in the rate setting process, the initial rates announced by insurers do not offer "clarity."
Researchers at The Tisch Cancer Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have discovered a key mechanism by which radiation treatment (radiotherapy) fails to completely destroy tumors. And, in the journal Nature Immunology, they offer a novel solution to promote successful radiotherapy for the millions of cancer patients who are treated with it.
Medical devices are traditionally thought of as fairly simple implants such as stents and hip replacements – pieces of plastic or metal that are placed in the body to handle a very specific function. But biomedical devices now on the drawing board are considerably more sophisticated and represent an unprecedented melding of man and machine.
Healthcare Administrative Partners (HAP), an industry-leading medical billing company, announced today that it has signed a contract to provide medical billing services to Lenox Hill Radiology. Lenox Hill Radiology is a radiologist-owned and operated imaging center located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Radiology billing is one of HAP's primary healthcare specialties; the company serves a broad range of hospital-based practices and imaging centers.
