Results from a study published early online in CANCER, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society, point to the need for improved access to medical care for sexual minority cancer survivors, in particular female survivors.
Research undertaken at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust has confirmed a link between elevated body mass index (BMI) and patients having better survival outcomes following percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI).
In the first nationwide campaign of its kind, Togo's children will receive four life-saving interventions at once. The landmark campaign, launched today, intends to reach one million children under-five with vaccines to prevent measles and polio, mosquito nets to prevent malaria and deworming tablets.
Many U.S. residents with illnesses who must travel frequently or long distances for treatment are forgoing, cutting back or delaying appointments and support groups or applying for grants to offset high gasoline prices, USA Today reports.
Sodium intake around the world is well in excess of physiological needs and public health authorities agree that chronic excess sodium intake can increase blood pressure and the risk of heart attack and stroke. However, despite recommendations to lower sodium consumption over the last decade, actual intake continues to rise.
