Gay men can recall familiar faces faster and more accurately than their heterosexual counterparts because, like women, they use both sides of their brains, according to a new study by York University researchers.

3M today reported first-quarter earnings of $1.29 per share on sales of $6.3 billion. Operating income margins were 22.8 percent, up 7 percentage points year-on-year. Sales and per-share earnings increased 24.7 percent and 74.3 percent, respectively, versus the first quarter of 2009.
Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, have discovered that oxytocin - a hormone associated with maternal nurturing, social attachments, childbirth and sex - is indispensable for healthy muscle maintenance and repair, and that in mice, it declines with age.
Scientists have successfully produced human kidney tissue within a living organism which is able to produce urine, a first for medical science.
