Oregon Health & Science University researchers, along with scientists at Washington University in St. Louis, are uncovering new information about the mind by studying the brain while it is at rest. It is believed this research will one day provide new tools for diagnosing mental health disorders and monitoring the progress of treatments.
Epizyme, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company leading the creation of personalized therapeutics to treat patients with genetically defined cancers, today announced the presentation of data evaluating the preclinical safety and efficacy of two of the Company's novel, potent and selective small molecule inhibitors. These inhibitors individually target DOT1L and EZH2, members of a class of epigenic enzymes called histone methyltransferases (HMTs).
Breastfeeding is healthy for baby and for Mom. It has a positive impact on childhood obesity, infections and allergies, is linked to a lower likelihood of mothers getting ovarian or breast cancers later in life and to a more positive maternal-child relationship.
