BioMed Central and the University of Michigan are pleased to announce an agreement to publish a new open access journal, Clinical Diabetes and Endocrinology, which is now open for submissions and will begin publishing in the first quarter of 2015.
When it comes to revealing a person's age, hands down, the back of the hand is more telling than the face and neck. Fortunately, dermatologists are applying new technologies to add volume to the hand as well as remove dark brown "age spots" to reverse these telltale signs of aging.
European women live longer than men, because of both biological and behavioural advantages, but women's longer lives are not necessarily healthy lives. Studies commented on by Dr Vannuzzo at the ESC Congress 2011, show that due to increase in tobacco and alcohol consumption in women, the gender gap is decreasing.
New genetic testing has been developed at the University of Oxford to detect early signs of a potentially fatal condition that can also develop into full blown leukaemia in children with Down's syndrome.
