E-cigarette vaping with nicotine appears to hamper mucus clearance from the airways, according to new research published online in the American Thoracic Society's American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotechnology company specializing in the characterization and engineering of complex drugs, today announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 shares of its common stock at $14.35 per share. The total proceeds, before expenses, to Momenta will be approximately $57.4 million. The offering is expected to close on December 13, 2010, subject to customary closing conditions.
A new study published online January 13, 2020, in the journal JAMA Pediatrics reports that mothers who suffer severe mental stress during pregnancy may have babies with abnormal development in important areas of the brain even before birth. It is already known that babies with congenital heart disease show abnormalities in brain growth and brain biochemical reactions.
The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF) will issue the first-and only-national clinical practice guideline to help healthcare practitioners identify and manage patients with hoarseness, also known as dysphonia.
