Agendia, a world leader in molecular cancer diagnostics, today announced that researchers from Agendia and leading academic centers in the U.S. and Europe will present data from multiple studies concerning Agendia's assays MammaPrint(R), BluePrint(TM), and ColoPrint(TM) at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting, June 4 - 8, 2010, at McCormick Place in Chicago. MammaPrint, the company's lead product, is the only FDA-cleared breast cancer recurrence test.
Researchers continue to achieve a better understanding of SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. One such effort has been reported in a new preprint on the bioRxiv server, dealing with the phenomenon of backtracking.
Usually, scientists study the molecular biology of cancer to find new treatments, but sometimes, it is the other way round: when trying to find new treatments, scientists find key information on cancer biology.
Metal-binding agents rubbed into the skin, prescribed by some alternative practitioners for the treatment of autism, are not absorbed and therefore are unlikely to be effective at helping the body excrete excess mercury. The study by Jennifer Cohen and Michelle Ruha from Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in the US, and their colleagues, provides evidence against the use of these treatments in children with autism.
