Assistant robots really suited for everyday routines, which take over burdensome or monotonous work for humans, are still virtually unavailable commercially.
Cellumen, Inc., a discovery and early safety assessment company, today announced that its in vitro Rat Hepatocyte Early Safety Assessment Panel provides increased predictivity for human drug induced liver injury (DILI) equivalent to that of a recently published panel comprised of human hepatocytes. The implications of this study have a significant impact on cost and throughput for in vitro human DILI predictive solutions.
As the U.S. immigrant population increases, many hospitals are seeking ways to improve their interpreter services, but there is "no clearly identified game plan for hospitals to decide what mix of language services to provide, by whom and how," United Press International reports.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins have zoomed in on what is going on at the molecular level when the body recognizes and defends against an attack of pathogens, and the findings, they say, could influence how drugs are developed to treat autoimmune diseases.
Every year, more than 16,000 Americans die as a result of what's known as an "aortic dissection" - a catastrophic rupture of the aorta, the body's largest artery. Once thought to be a simple structural failure, aortic dissection is now understood to be caused by an inflammatory process that weakens the artery's walls.
