Aeterna Zentaris Inc. a late-stage drug development company specialized in oncology and endocrinology, today announced that it has received from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), orphan-drug designation for AEZS-108, its doxorubicin targeted conjugate compound, for the treatment of ovarian cancer. AEZS-108 is currently in a Phase 2 trial in advanced ovarian and advanced endometrial cancer in Europe.
Cardinal Health today announced an agreement to acquire privately held AccessClosure Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of extravascular closure devices in the United States, for $320 million. Subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory clearances, the all-cash transaction is expected to close by early June 2014.
Researchers at the National Institute of Physiological Science have revealed that mutual eye contact synchronizes spontaneous activity in specific areas of the brains of two interacting parties.
