The predominant cause of death in cancer patients is metastasis, the formation of secondary tumors in other organs like the brain, liver, and lungs. Because of the very high costs in developing drugs for rare genetic diseases, and the low return on investment, the pharmaceutical industry has rarely developed specific treatments for many of these diseases.
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) today praised the U.S. House of Representatives for unanimously approving H.R. 6651, the PEPFAR Extension Act of 2018 (H.R. 6651) on November 13.
