Elevated levels of the brain protein tau following a sport-related concussion are associated with a longer recovery period and delayed return to play for athletes, according to a study published in the January 6, 2017 issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

While binge drinking behaviors - drinking alcohol to a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.08% or higher - have been studied before, relatively little research has focused on people's behaviors and the consequences surrounding "extreme" drinking, or drinking alcohol to a blood alcohol concentration level of more than 0.16%.
Lightpoint Medical, an innovative medical device company specializing in imaging technologies, announced today that it has received a 2.4M Euro grant from the European Commission as part of the Horizon 2020 European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, enabling the company to carry out a large-scale clinical trial in breast cancer.
In breast cancer patients with metastatic disease, bone is the most common site of metastasis and the most common site of first distant relapse, with roughly half (48%) of breast cancer patients developing bone metastases after treatment.
