In a study to be published online Nov. 6 in Nature Medicine, investigators at the Stanford University School of Medicine have shown that the development of osteoarthritis is in great part driven by low-grade inflammatory processes.
BSD Medical Corporation today reported clinical study data showing that hyperthermia, using the BSD-2000 Hyperthermia System, combined with chemotherapy has the potential to improve control rate and long-term survival for the treatment of children with high-risk cancer who have a dismal prognosis.
Provepharm, a French company specialized in the development of pharmaceutical applications, and Dr Franz Kohler Chemie, a German leader in the manufacture and supply of organ preservation solutions and antidote pharmaceuticals, today announce that they have entered into a partnership to launch Provepharm's drug product Methylthioninium chloride Proveblue 5mg/ml solution for injection (the Product) in Germany, for the acute symptomatic treatment of medicinal and chemical products-induced methaemoglobinaemia.
BioCurex Inc. today announced that the International Society of Oncology and Biomarkers Congress Scientific Committee has accepted BioCurex's presentation on the RECAF blood test potential to monitor cancer recurrence and treatment. The meeting will be held Sept. 3-8, 2010 in Munich, Germany and is broadly attended by scientists, physicians and biotechnology companies involved in cancer diagnostics.
NIH-funded scientists have shown that boosting the production of certain broadly neutralizing antibodies can protect humanized mice from both intravenous and vaginal infection with HIV. Humanized mice have immune systems genetically modified to resemble those of humans, making it possible for them to become HIV-infected.
