University of Delaware scientist Donald Watson is part of a research team that has discovered an easier method for incorporating fluorine into organic molecules, giving chemists an important new tool in developing materials ranging from new medicines to agricultural chemicals.
Men who sleep too much or too little are at an increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, according to a study by the New England Research Institutes in collaboration with Yale School of Medicine researchers.
On its website, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance describes a new publication, titled "Of Spices and Silk: Sharing Stories of Technical Support to Global Fund Grants in Asia," which presents 11 case stories showing how the Alliance's regional Technical Support Hubs have provided assistance to Global Fund grant recipients.
New findings presented today during the APASL Liver Week in Singapore, highlighted the efficacy and safety of faldaprevir+ plus pegylated interferon and ribavirin (PegIFN/RBV) in treatment-naïve patients with genotype-1 hepatitis C virus (HCV) in Asia.1 This post-hoc sub-analysis of the Phase III STARTVerso™1 and 2 trials showed that both doses of faldaprevir were associated with high viral cure rates and a shorter treatment duration in this particular patient group.1
The AOD9604 molecule is a small orally active peptide modelled on one section of the human growth hormone molecule. Growth hormone naturally occurs in the body and has profound stimulatory effects on fat metabolism, with levels of the hormone typically becoming suppressed in the obese state.
