Can-Fite BioPharma Ltd., a biotechnology company with a pipeline of proprietary small molecule drugs that address inflammatory and cancer diseases, today reported further progress in its continuing preclinical program of its CF602 drug candidate as the Company prepares to file an investigational new drug (IND) application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to allow the initiation of a Phase I clinical study.
Atrial fibrillation is a common complication of cardiac surgery, occurring in 10 percent to 40 percent of patients. Recent studies show it to be associated with poorer health following surgery and poorer long-term survival. Furthermore, development of atrial fibrillation after cardiac surgery leads to average additional health care costs of $15,000 to $20,000.
Fact: Congress must pass and the president must sign legislation by the end of this year that reduces federal spending by $109 billion - or the first year of automatic across-the-board cuts in both domestic and defense programs will go into effect.
In research published in the medical journal Brain, Saint Louis University researcher Daniela Salvemini, Ph.D. and colleagues within SLU, the National Institutes of Health and other academic institutions have discovered a way to block a pain pathway in animal models of chronic neuropathic pain including pain caused by chemotherapeutic agents and bone cancer pain suggesting a promising new approach to pain relief.
Salumatics Inc. and HealthAsyst Pvt Ltd today announce a strategic partnership agreement in which Salumatics will be a value-added reseller of the HealthAsyst patient self-service kiosks in Canada.
