According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in the U.S. there are no scientific grounds for the medical use of use of marijuana and the agency is highly critical of attempts by individual states to legalise it.
More than one-third of Latinos interviewed in a recent study believe science education may have a negative impact on the religious faith of their children, according to new research from sociologists at Rice University.
Lithera, Inc. today announced positive results from a Phase IIa clinical study of LIPO-102, its novel injectable combination of salmeterol xinafoate and fluticasone propionate for selective, non-ablative fat reduction. LIPO-102 was well-tolerated when administered weekly for 8 weeks into the subcutaneous abdominal fat of healthy subjects.
A team of researchers from the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Engineering in Medicine (MGH-CEM) has found the first evidence of cell-to-cell communication by amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, rather than by known protein signaling agents such as growth factors or cytokines.
There is enough scientific evidence now to show that dogs can be powerful motivators to get people moving. Dog owners are more likely to take regular walks and new research has shown that dog walkers are more active overall than people who don't have dogs.
