Americans take obesity as seriously as cancer, and say it's an even bigger health threat than heart disease, the nation's leading killer, yet most do not go beyond traditional diets or involve doctors in their largely unsuccessful personal struggles against the disease, according to a new survey by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the independent research organization, NORC at the University of Chicago.
A research team from the University of British Columbia and the Child & Family Research Institute (CFRI) at BC Children's Hospital has identified the role of a type of T cell in type 1 diabetes that may lead to new treatment options for young patients.
AMRI today announced that its board of directors has approved a new share repurchase program of up to $10 million. Under the program, the company is authorized to repurchase outstanding shares of its Common Stock in the open market or in private transactions. Shares may be repurchased from time to time and in such amounts as market conditions warrant, subject to price ranges set by management and regulatory considerations.
The Trump administration quietly invoked the Defense Production Act to force medical suppliers in Texas and Colorado to sell to it first — ahead of states, hospitals or foreign countries.
