AstraZeneca announced today that results from TITAN, a 12-week study of SYMBICORT® (budesonide/formoterol fumarate dihydrate) Inhalation Aerosol in African American patients with moderate to severe persistent asthma, showed significant improvement in lung function for patients taking SYMBICORT compared with those using budesonide alone.

Free access for children to GP services increases utilization of care

In July 2015, all children under six years of age gained free access to daytime and out-of-hours general practice services in the Republic of Ireland, resulting in a 25 percent increase in utilization.

UH implants Abbott's Absorb dissolving stent on coronary artery disease patient

University Hospitals Case Medical Center is among the first in the country - and the first in Ohio - to offer and deploy the Abbott Absorb stent, a completely bioresorbable stent. The Absorb stent works exactly as its traditional metallic predecessors in that it opens a blocked coronary artery, with one major exception - it dissolves completely in the body two to three years after implantation.
