But an executive for the consulting firm Deloitte said, "What we are hearing in our meetings is, 'We don't want to be the first one to drop benefits, but we would be the fast second.' According to new research published Online First in The Lancet, body mass index (BMI) may influence which blood pressure medications work best at reducing the major complications of high blood pressure (strokes, heart attacks, and death).
Using precise, radioactively labeled genetic probes, researchers at Jefferson Medical College have seen cancer gene activity from outside the body in laboratory mice. The probes, which work by attaching to genetic codes copied from an active cancer gene, may someday aid physicians and scientists in cancer detection and in determining the appropriate treatment for a cancer.
Cardiola AG announced today that it has placed its patented m.pulse system in 10 hospitals located in Germany and Switzerland, on the heels of the system's CE-Mark approval. MCP was previously only available in a clinical setting. Now, m.pulse is the world's first and only device enabling CAD patients to receive MCP therapy at home.
