Researchers from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center have announced results from the first published basket study, a new form of clinical trial design that explores responses to drugs based on the specific mutations in patients' tumors rather than where their cancer originated.
Despite the potential of new vaccines to prevent TB, new research shows that the removal of one strain of TB can allow a previously suppressed strain to succeed. Consequently, a vaccination program could result in the proliferation of strains more likely to be, or become, drug resistant, and could even result in an increased prevalence of the disease.
In his latest Kaiser Health News column, Howard Gleckman writes: "Suddenly, many hospices are admitting fewer patients. Others are increasingly caring for people for just days or hours before they die.
The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) is gravely concerned with the future quality of resident care at Community Nursing Home Port Perry as staff is being dramatically cut.
Shimmer recently supported a project undertaken by Donovan Faraoni, a Grade 10 student at Bishop's College School, Québec, Canada. Donovan's experiment focused on how mixed reality technologies will soon blend virtual elements seamlessly into our everyday lives, making it critical to understand potential underlying differences in our perceptions of virtual reality.
