At the World Health Assembly Wednesday, Member States approved a global monitoring framework on maternal, infant and young child nutrition.
Imprimis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of proprietary compounded drug formulations, today announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Advanced Dosage Forms, Inc. to expand Imprimis' proprietary ophthalmic injectable and combination topical compounded formulations into Canada. Under the agreement, the licensee has the rights to formulate, market and sell these formulations across Canada.
A Johns Hopkins undergraduate has constructed a new type of microchip that can move and isolate DNA and protein molecules. He believes that by linking the chip with analysis equipment, a user could identify medical ailments, monitor a patient's health or detect viruses and other biohazards before they spread.
A series of recent scientific publications have exaggerated the benefits and underplayed the harms of drugs to treat pre-osteoporosis or "osteopenia" potentially encouraging treatment in millions of low risk women, warn experts in this week's BMJ.
