Enzo Biochem Inc. said today that a decision released Friday by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversing a district court's summary judgment will enable the Company to pursue a claim for substantial damages against Applera Corporation, now Life Technologies Corporation. The Court of Appeals vacated the lower court's judgments of invalidity on United States Patent Nos. 5,328,824 and 5,449,767.
A research team from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) and the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) have been awarded a new $2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to continue developing a small robot that could one day be a huge aid to neurosurgeons in removing difficult-to-reach brain tumors.
Clothing worn by healthcare providers can become contaminated with bacteria, however having nurses wear scrubs with antimicrobial properties did not prevent this bacterial contamination from occurring, according to a study published online today in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology, the journal of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
