In corporation with peers from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York University, researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), a CAS affiliate, have come up with new chemical inhibitors against HIV reproduction, marking a significant progress in the development of anti-AIDS drugs based on natural host resistance.
Biogen Idec today announced enrollment of the first patient in a multicenter Phase II clinical trial designed to evaluate its investigational oral therapy BG-12 (dimethyl fumarate) in combination with commonly used first-line treatments in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS).
Tourette's syndrome is characterised by tics caused in many by premonitory urges; sensations which give patients compulsion to act to relieve discomfort. Habit reversal therapy conditions patients into heightened awareness of premonitory urges and forced counteraction of the tic.
