Scientists have discovered how tendons - the fibrous tissue that connects muscle to bone - become damaged through injury or the ageing process in what could lead to new treatments for people with tendon problems.
A study by scientists at Zhejiang University in China claimed that eating a magnesium rich Mediterranean diet could combat a range of diseases (such as strokes, diabetes and heart disease) linked to magnesium deficiency.
Researchers in Manchester are questioning the legal use of certain fungicides used on imported flowers and bulbs following evidence that they induce resistance to the drugs used to treat patients with Aspergillus fumigatus, a virulent of fungal disease.
In a small study based on conversations with 20 hospital-based surgeons, Johns Hopkins researchers say they found that most report feeling pressure to operate under severe emergency situations, even when they believe the patients would not benefit.
A Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center team studying alcohol addiction has new research that might shed light on why some drinkers are more susceptible to addiction than others.
