The MOMAT research group from Universidad Complutense de Madrid has worked with Universidad de Almería, to develop a mathematical model that simulates the impact of SARS-CoV-2 strains and vaccines together, combined with many other biological and social processes in the propagation of COVID-19.
A new study shows that something as simple as a cervical swab might have the potential to help hundreds of women who are at extremely high risk of ovarian cancer because they have a mutation in the BRCA1 gene.
Since 2006-2007, schools participating in federally-funded school meal programs have been required to have wellness programs. A new study in American Journal of Preventive Medicine finds that schools with more robust wellness programs offer healthier foods and beverages, including foods offered in vending machines, school stores and a la carte sales.
Researchers at NYU Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Global TIES for Children and researchers at University of California Davis (Paul Hastings and Lindsey Partington) as well as Hashemite University in Jordan (Rana Dajani), have used a hair cortisol test to detect the impact of COVID-19 on stress levels in families.
AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the largest global AIDS organization, is rejecting a trial balloon floated by Obama Administration officials that suggests $30 million in additional funding could adequately help close a gaping $126 million hole in funding for the nation's AIDS Drug Assistance Program, the federal and state funded, state run network of assistance programs that supply lifesaving AIDS drugs to low-income Americans in need.
