INTEGRA Biosciences has launched the MINI 96 portable electronic pipette, giving every lab access to significantly increased liquid handling productivity.
Many scientists in academia bemoan the fact that their lifestyles do not allow them to have as many children as they would like. Surprisingly, male scientists harbor more regrets than female scientists, according to a study by Rice University sociologist Elaine Howard Ecklund.
New research findings about the brain, nervous system, and related disorders will be presented at Neuroscience 2011 in Washington, Nov. 12-16. Among the many findings are how the brain adapts during development, learning, and decision-making; how genes and the environment work in tandem to influence behavior and disease; and how novel science is changing the understanding of pain, mental illness, and aging.
Six new stem cell therapies, all forecast to reach physicians in 2010, will be featured at the 5th Annual Stem Cell Summit on February 16 in New York City. These new therapies include allograft products, innovative forms of autologous stem cell technologies, and at least one FDA-approved stem cell drug. New studies showing rehydration of the disc nucleus, regeneration of new heart muscle and others are also on the agenda.
