Loyola University Health System nurses and staff recently set aside time from their busy schedules to showcase their dancing talent in a Pink Glove Dance video. This video is part of the Pink Glove Dance phenomenon that is sweeping the nation in support of breast cancer research.
With the growing awareness of ultraviolet exposure resulting in an increased risk of photoaging and skin cancers, consumers are using higher sun protection factor sunscreens with frequent reapplication.
Implementation Choices for the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 - This report examines two key areas of the implementation process of the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) of 2009 - outreach and enrollment, and quality of care - and issues a set of recommendations. "Recommendations include: giving funding priority to states that will adopt or maintain key simplifications… ensuring quality measures focus on priority health needs for children, and building quality measurement and improvement capabilities into electronic health information systems, among others," according to a Commonwealth Fund description of the report (Simpson, Fairbrother, Touschner and Guyer, 9/10).
The 2014 DIA patient fellows illustrate the power of patient advocacy. A Parkinson's disease patient is the driving force in the success of clinical trials, recruiting patients and transporting them to research sites while saving researchers thousands of dollars.
