University of Florida Health researchers have identified genes that are disrupted by abnormal hormone signaling at crucial points during development, a finding that may lead to a better understanding of how the most common male genital birth defects arise in humans.
Phytochemicals are plant-derived molecules from medicinal plants that act as a prominent reservoir for treating a wide range of viral infections. In a new study, published in the journal Scientific Reports, scientists adopted a computational approach to identify Mpro inhibitors.
The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, together with the Meredith A. Cowden Foundation, will bring the first national educational conference on Graft vs. Host Disease (GvHD) to Cleveland on Thursday, Nov. 4, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Corporate College East, 4400 Richmond Road, Warrenville Hts. GvHD is a life-threatening complication experienced by an estimated 60 percent of all leukemia and other blood cancer patients following bone marrow transplantation. There is currently no cure.
Eighteen years later, people who worked with lead have significant loss of brain cells and damage to brain tissue, according to a new study published in the May 23, 2006, issue of Neurology, the scientific journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
The metabolic enzyme IL4I1 (Interleukin-4-Induced-1) promotes the spread of tumor cells and suppresses the immune system.
