An agent-based simulator was used to determine the historical course of COVID-19 and to analyze the effectiveness of lockdown.
Researchers at NYU Langone Medical Center have found how even brief exposure to sudden sounds or mild trauma can form permanent, long-term brain connections, or memories, in a specific region of the brain. Moreover, the research team, working with rats, says it was able to chemically stimulate those biological pathways in the locus coeruleus - the area of the brain best known for releasing the "fight or flight" hormone noradrenaline - to heighten and improve the animals' hearing.
Reverse Medical Corporation announced today that it has received US FDA 510k clearance to market the ReFlex line of intracranial catheters for distal neurovascular access and microcatheter therapeutic delivery.
"New federal standards unveiled last month require doctors to start using electronic medical records routinely, including logging patients' diagnoses and visits, ordering prescriptions, monitoring for drug interactions and making records accessible to other medical providers. ... Only about 20 percent of South Florida medical providers use electronic records now, experts said, and while many doctors are already making the change, some fear that older family physicians may one day close their practices rather than spend the money and time to go digital"
The researchers examined the effect of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on 250 different Israeli cities with distinct demographic and ethnic characteristics.
