A new study reports that Britons are turning to prescription drugs for every illness, minor or major. This recent paper titled "A Pill for Every Ill", published in Social Science & Medicine journal says that while two decades earlier average number of prescriptions dispensed per person was only eight, it is more than 16 now.
Congressman John Culberson, R-Texas, today announced that his office will post the current healthcare bill in the House of Representatives, "H.R.3200 - America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009," on the congressman's Web site and, using a new technology, invite his constituents to participate in, comment on and debate the pending bill.
Results from a study presented today at The International Liver Congress 2015 demonstrate that the use of a pocket-sized ultrasound device (PUD) helps to reduce the need for further testing in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Sinovac Biotech Ltd., a leading provider of biopharmaceutical products in China, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Boryung Pharmaceutical Company Limited, a Korean manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, to collaborate on marketing efforts and possible vaccine supply efforts to the government of South Korea for Sinovac's H1N1 vaccine.
Yaws, a disease which eats away at the skin, cartilage and bones of its victims (mostly children), is re- emerging in poor, rural and marginalized populations of Africa, Asia and South America.
