Sirius Genomics, a developer of companion diagnostics, announced today that it has signed its second Contribution Agreement with the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).
A novel, noninvasive approach to determining fractional flow reserve failed to show sufficient diagnostic accuracy to meet the primary endpoint of the DeFACTO trial, but was more accurate for diagnosing coronary artery ischemia than computed tomography, reported the trial's lead investigator.
The use of statins may not be associated with lowering risk for Parkinson's disease, according to a new study led by researchers at Penn State College of Medicine and National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. The findings cast doubts on reports suggesting that the cholesterol-lowering medications may protect against this neurodegenerative brain disorder.
Paper strips laced with sugar could be the sweetest solution so far, literally, to kill E. coli in contaminated water.
