The GOP-controlled U.S. House plans to hold what can only be called symbolic votes on repealing the sweeping reforms they deride as "Obamacare." Meanwhile, at least 15 governors are said to be leaning toward refusing to expand state Medicaid programs - a key part of the reform's strategy to provide some form of health insurance to the 32 million people now going without coverage.
A University of Bath academic who oversees a global effort to develop an open-source machine that prints 3D objects, is celebrating after the prototype machine succeeded in making a set of its own printed parts. The machine, named RepRap, will be exhibited publicly at the Cheltenham Science Festival (4-8 June 2008).
The NSW Government has named two new scholarships for stem-cell research in honour of Paul Brock, an adjunct professor at the University of Sydney and a leading figure in Australia's education community.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today unveiled a plan containing 25 actions it intends to implement during 2011 to improve the most common path to market for medical devices.
MR Solutions' latest liquid helium free PET-MR preclinical imaging system for the molecular research community was the subject of talks and papers on simultaneous PET-MR imaging at the World Molecular Imaging Congress held in Montreal in September.
