At Pittcon 2014, Bruker introduced TopSolids™, a new intuitive, workflow-based software package for solid-state NMR in structural biology that provides menu-based, automated setup and acquisition of the most advanced multinuclear multi-dimensional NMR experiments.
Researchers, led by scientists from Johns Hopkins, have found five previously unknown gene mutations believed to be associated with elevated blood platelet counts in African-Americans, findings they say could someday lead to the development of new drugs to help prevent coronary artery disease.
A new study of women who have been diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (D.C.I.S.), may help personalize cancer treatment required by the women.
Democrats are feeling health care "fatigue" and are doubting that Congress will consider any more health-related legislation this year. "Measures in jeopardy include bills that would require more information on healthcare prices, empower federal regulators to sign off on premium increases and strip insurers of their exemption from anti-trust laws."
