Aircuity, the smart airside efficiency company, today announced that it has been engaged by MIT to develop a ventilation optimization program that will significantly improve overall energy efficiency and optimize building ventilation across its Hayden Library facility. Leveraging Aircuity's OptiNet system, MIT will be able to cost effectively reduce energy use in support of its Institute-wide initiative to significantly reduce electricity across all of its facilities.

Sigma-Aldrich today announced a worldwide licensing agreement with Polyplus-transfection (Strasbourg, France) to manufacture and commercialize Zip Nucleic Acid (ZNA(TM)) oligonucleotides, a new technology that provides solutions for increased affinity for nucleic acids.
"Up to five million people in Pakistan are at risk from floods this year, partly due to poor reconstruction and the inadequate rehabilitation of survivors who are still reeling from last year's epic deluge, the U.N. said on Wednesday," Reuters reports.
