President Obama got serious this week about the ticking time bomb in his new health-care legislation - the lack of any clear plan to reduce costs and improve quality. What he did was install someone who can use our behemoth Medicare and Medicaid programs as laboratories for change - so that reform doesn't bankrupt the country (David Ignatius, 7/9).
Just as the number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 approaches new highs in some parts of the country, hospital data in Kansas and Missouri is suddenly incomplete or missing.
Hyperfine Research Inc. announced today its collaboration with the Yale School of Medicine to pioneer the use of the world's first portable, low-cost magnetic resonance imaging system at the bedside of patients in the neuro intensive care unit of Yale New Haven Hospital. Hyperfine's system can move directly to the bedside, plug into a wall outlet, and operate in any healthcare setting.
University of Phoenix will debut its immersive learning center featuring state-of-the-art wireless high-fidelity SIM Man 3G "patient" mannequins that cry, talk, sweat, cough and breathe; and a high-fidelity baby that reacts astonishingly similar to its live counterpart, at a private reception and grand opening on Thursday, Oct. 29, across from its Elwood Street campus in Phoenix.
