Magnus Medical, Inc., a medical device company, today announced that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has granted the company Breakthrough Device Designation for its individualized, rapid-acting, non-invasive neurostimulation technology designed to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) in people who have not improved sufficiently from antidepressant medication or other treatments.
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a major cause of limb loss. It is estimated that PAD affects between 8.5 and 12 million Americans, with a prevalence that has increased by about 25 percent over the preceding decade.
Scientists say they are a step closer to developing a drug to kill the trypanosome parasite that causes human African trypanosomiasis, otherwise known as sleeping sickness, paving the way for a potential cure.
United BioSource Corporation (UBC), a global scientific and medical affairs organization, today announced that it had secured a new line of credit that provides the company with up to $150 million in additional financing for acquisitions and other significant growth investments. Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, Capital One and JPMorgan Chase participated in financing the new credit facility.
