The thalidomide derivative, lenalidomide, is a "safe" and effective treatment in refractory cutaneous lupus erythematosus patients, although three-quarters of patients experience clinical relapse after the drug is withdrawn, say Spanish researchers.
ImmunoCellular Therapeutics, Ltd. (OTCBB: IMUC), a clinical-stage biotechnology company that is developing immune based therapies for the treatment of brain and other cancers, announced today that it has entered into a research and license option agreement regarding its ICT-69 antibody with Roche Group (SWX: ROG.VX; RO.S, OTCQX: RHHBY), one of the world's leading research-focused healthcare groups in the fields of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics.
We often hear that "knowledge is power." But, that isn't always the case, especially when the knowledge pertains to the health of an unborn child, with murky implications, at best. A new study, led by researchers from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, begins to document this exception to the general rule.
A new study has added to the growing body of research which suggests that eating a Mediterranean diet can help to prevent Alzheimer's disease.
A recently published study determined that women who make poor shoe choices early in life suffer with foot pain in later years. Research shows that men do not experience the same foot pain as women, due to type of shoes they wear. Details of this study appear in the October issue of Arthritis Care & Research, a journal published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the American College of Rheumatology.
