Scientists at Case Western Reserve University have used Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify new biomarkers for breast cancer that can predict whether the cancer will return after treatment-;and which can be identified from routinely acquired tissue biopsy samples of early-stage breast cancer.
Millsaps College has received a $1.4 million grant from the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute to redesign its science curriculum. The new curriculum is aimed at expanding the number of students interested in pre-medical education and deepening scientific training for all students.
Mount Sinai researchers have designed an artificial intelligence model that can determine whether lower back pain is acute or chronic by scouring doctors' notes within electronic medical records, an approach that can help to treat patients more accurately, according to a study published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research in February.
The U.S. health system is "ill-prepared to cope with a catastrophic release of radiation, despite years of focus on the possibility of a terrorist 'dirty bomb' or an improvised nuclear device attack," according to U.S. officials, the Washington Post reports.
