Researchers at the University of Virginia have shed light on how our genes affect our risk for coronary artery disease, the most common form of heart disease.
Cardiovascular Systems, Inc., announces the first patient enrollment in its ORBIT II Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) clinical trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of its Diamondback 360® System in treating coronary arteries. The patient was treated by Dr. P.K. Khanna, an interventional cardiologist with Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Springs, Calif. Dr. Khanna also treated patients in the 2008 ORBIT I coronary study of 50 patients in India.
The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) is mobilizing health experts to assess the impact of yesterday's earthquake on the health situation in Haiti and working with other United Nations agencies, international partners, and local authorities to mobilize and coordinate relief and recovery efforts focused on the quake's survivors.
Cedars-Sinai's Orthopaedic Center is one of only 60 hospitals nationwide to be named as one of the "Hospitals with Great Orthopaedic Programs," a distinction awarded by Becker's Hospital Review, a national magazine focused on healthcare services and management.
