Amgen and Pfizer Inc. today announced results from a new trial that demonstrated Enbrel significantly improved scalp involvement in adult patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, compared with placebo. The data will be presented today at the 69th Annual American Academy of Dermatology meeting in New Orleans, La.
In what will come as a surprise to many outside of the teaching profession, new research has revealed that teachers are often bullied from above.
"Firms that supply temporary nurses to the nation's hospitals are taking perilous shortcuts in their screening and supervision, sometimes putting seriously ill patients in the hands of incompetent or impaired caregivers," ProPublica and The Los Angeles Times report. "Emboldened by a chronic nursing shortage and scant regulation, the firms vie for their share of a free-wheeling, $4-billion industry. Some have become havens for nurses who hopscotch from place to place to avoid the consequences of their misconduct."
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported on January 26 that "a possible association between saline and silicone gel-filled breast implants and anaplastic large cell lymphoma, a very rare type of cancer. Data reviewed by the FDA suggests that patients with breast implants may have a very small, but significant risk, of ALCL in the scar capsule adjacent to the implant.
