Researchers discovered a special type of molecular structure that helps keep genes properly turned off until the structure is ejected from those genes in a regulated manner to help turn the genes on.
Researchers at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Center for Prostate Disease Research, in collaboration with investigators at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, have developed a highly specific assay for the detection of ERG, a protein associated with tumor formations which is present in more than half of all prostate cancers.
Chronic pain due to disease or injury is common, and even prescription pain medications cannot provide acceptable pain relief for many individuals.
A national study finds children without insurance who seek treatment for a mental health disorder in the emergency department are more likely than those with private insurance to be transferred to another hospital.
