An international team of researchers led by clinicians at Weill Cornell Medical College have discovered a genetic Achilles' heel in an aggressive type of prostate cancer - a vulnerability they say can be attacked by a targeted drug that is already in clinical trials to treat other types of cancers.
Johns Hopkins researchers have analyzed patient data from 45 cases of what they thought was acute flaccid myelitis, the polio-like outbreak occurring in U.S. children, and realized that only 75 percent of diagnosed cases were AFM.
Tahitian Noni International announced that the first annual International Iridoid Research Symposium will be held at TNI headquarters in Provo, Utah, on August 16th and 17th. Scientists from around the world will be presenting current research on iridoids in both plants and animals. The symposium is being presented by the International Iridoid Research Council, which is a new organization dedicated to the sharing of information and research being conducted on iridoids.
