A new study from Rhode Island Hospital now sheds light on both the quantity of MRSA at different body sites and the relationship between the quantities at different sites.
Protalix BioTherapeutics, Inc., announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Complete Response Letter (CRL) regarding the Company's New Drug Application (NDA) for taliglucerase alfa for the treatment of Gaucher disease. Taliglucerase alfa is a plant-cell expressed form of glucocerebrosidase (GCD).
We know from earlier studies that mice can derive genetic benefits when females mate with multiple males, but until recently, the conditions under which females will voluntarily mate with multiple males were not clear. Kerstin Thonhauser and her colleagues from the Konrad Lorenz Institute of Ethology of the Vetmeduni Vienna conducted a series of experiments in which female wild-derived house mice (Mus musculus) could mate freely with one or two males while not in danger of sexual coercion by a male.
VWR, a leading, global, independent provider of laboratory products, services and solutions, announced today that it has acquired Purification Technologies Inc., a specialty solvent company that performs high volume purification of selected high purity solvents. This acquisition will enhance VWR's growing laboratory and production chemical manufacturing portfolio to better support its laboratory and biopharmaceutical manufacturing customers.
Proposals to extend payroll tax relief, as well as take steps to prevent a scheduled 30 percent reduction in Medicare physician reimbursements from taking effect in January, are high on the congressional to-do list. A House vote on a doc-fix patch could take place as soon as next week.
