Approximately 15% of Asians living in New York City are chronically infected with hepatitis B virus, according to a new study by New York University School of Medicine researchers and their colleagues.
The Cell Therapy Catapult has published its annual analysis of the UK preclinical and clinical research landscapes with the release of its UK Clinical and Pre-Clinical Trials Databases. These show a 24% rise in the number of clinical trials and an increase of 22% in the number of pre-clinical projects. Sector growth came in the key areas of oncology, neurology, ophthalmology and cardiovascular.
Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co., Inc., a specialty pharmaceuticals company, announced today that the US Food and Drug Administration granted final approval for the Company's Abbreviated New Drug Application for levofloxacin ophthalmic solution, 0.5% the generic for Vistakon's Quixin ophthalmic solution, which had sales of $2 million for the 12 months ended December 2010 according to IMS sales data.
Invasive aquatic species like round goby, Asian carp, and sea lamprey are a growing problem in New York State. Their presence impacts water quality, food supply, recreation and tourism, as well as human and animal health.
