An experimental vaccine to prevent Ebola virus disease was well-tolerated and produced immune system responses in all 20 healthy adults who received it in a Phase 1 clinical trial conducted by researchers from the National Institutes of Health. The candidate vaccine, which was co-developed by the NIH's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and GlaxoSmithKline, was tested at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Shamir Optical Industry Ltd., Kibbutz Shamir and Essilor International today announced that they have signed an agreement whereby Essilor will, through a series of transactions, acquire 50% of Shamir Optical. As a result of these transactions, Kibbutz Shamir and Essilor will each own 50% of Shamir Optical.
Research published in the April edition of the Journal of Thoracic Oncology sought to compare the outcomes of a sleeve lobectomy and a pneumonectomy procedure, in order to determine which is a more acceptable standard treatment for patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
