Patients who receive cardiac positron emission testing (PET) imaging instead of single photon emission computed tomography scan experienced a significant increase in the detection of severe obstructive coronary artery disease, according to researchers at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute in Salt Lake City.
XTL Biopharmaceuticals announced yesterday, March 18, 2012, it successfully completed a private placement of securities with foreign as well as Israeli institutional and private investors for a total of $2.4 million (NIS 9.1 million).
Individuals with multiple sclerosis may have an increased risk of developing any type of cancer, with an especially high risk of developing breast cancer. That is the conclusion of a recent study published in European Journal of Neurology. Because the findings contradict earlier studies, additional research is needed to determine whether a true link exists between multiple sclerosis and cancer.
A new study, published in 'Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy' conducted by a University of Liverpool led research consortium, has helped develop a new treatment option for some multi-drug resistant infections.
