AIMM Therapeutics, a leading human therapeutic antibody company, today announced that its partner MedImmune, LLC, the global biologics unit of AstraZeneca, has initiated phase I clinical studies with MEDI8897, a best-in-class antibody for the treatment of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections in young, at risk children.
The rabies virus wreaks havoc on the brain, triggering psychosis and death. To get where it needs to go, the virus must first trick the nervous system and cross the blood brain barrier - a process that makes it of interest in drug design.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today alerted consumers, health care providers and other users of thermal imaging systems intended to measure human body temperature—also known as telethermographic systems, infrared thermographs, thermal cameras, and "fever cameras"—that improper use of the systems may provide inaccurate temperature readings due to a variety of factors.
Incept BioSystems, Inc., a privately-held biomedical device company using patented microfluidic technology developed at the University of Michigan, announced today that it has initiated the first U.S. human clinical trial of its proprietary SMART Embryo Culture System. The microscale SMART technology platform is designed to improve the in vitro manipulation, performance, and viability of embryos for the treatment of patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF).
