Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, the world's leading provider of diagnostic testing, information and services, today announced that it has again been selected to be part of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes and North America Indexes (DJSI World and DJSI North America). The Washington Times continues its coverage of the challenges facing the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) - "the U.S. government agency that provides large-scale grant to … chosen countries to reduce poverty and stimulate economic growth. … Although MCC says control of corruption is the single most important indicator by which a nation is deemed qualified for aid money, a review of the State Department's most recent report on human rights reveals that … virtually every country receiving similar grants - has been criticized for government corruption."
New Vanderbilt-led research shows hospitals are doing a better job of using antibiotics less commonly associated with antibiotic resistance to treat children hospitalized with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).
Dr Nakano said: "Many randomised clinical trials, such as Treating to New Targets (TNT) and PROVE IT-TIMI, have shown that aggressive cholesterol lowering with statins improves clinical outcomes in patients with CAD and high LDL-C levels.1,2 But until now it was not known whether aggressive lipid lowering with statins would also benefit CAD patients with very low LDL-C levels."
