Researchers at New York University's Center for Neural Science have identified a new neurological deficit behind amblyopia, or "lazy eye." Their findings, which appear in the most recent issue of the Journal of Neuroscience, shed additional light on how amblyopia results from disrupted links between the brain and normal visual processing.

In today's issue of Nature, two new studies funded in part by The ALS Association both highlight an important new discovery around the C9orf72 mutation, the most common genetic defect associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Myriad RBM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Myriad Genetics, Inc., today announced that its DiscoveryMAP platform successfully identified combinations of 15 protein biomarkers associated with cardiovascular (CV) events or death in people with pre-diabetes or early type 2 diabetes, according to a study published by the journal Circulation.
