How do parents decide whether to vaccinate their child? In a study designed to formally look at the content of parent-targeted communications about the benefits of vaccination for measles, mumps and rubella, Indiana University School of Medicine investigators report that the framing of these messages influences parents' intentions to immunize their children.
Teens are more than 15 percent less likely to say they would purchase soft drinks and other sugary drinks that include health warning labels, according to a new study led by researchers at the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Scientists at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) have solved the mystery of why a specific signaling pathway can be associated with alcohol dependence.
Though it is one of the most frequently used health indicators as more and more of us age, frailty - the medical term for increased vulnerability to declines in health or a loss of independence - remains under-studied and under-utilized, so say researchers reporting on a prestigious conference hosted by the American Geriatrics Society and the National Institute on Aging, with support from the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine and The John A.
